Knockouts, indeed!

Usually, a rose bush would have a better chance of survival if you left it at the nursery, doused it with gasoline, and lit it on fire rather than letting it go home with me!

But not anymore!

I bought 4 Double Knockout Pink Roses this year to use in my foundation bed two weeks ago and they are already blooming their little heads off!

They are less than 2 feet tall, have had almost no sun for two weeks, and have been pelted with rain and hail. But these little babies are covered with buds and blooms!

I tried to get a pic of the entire plant but the sun was reflecting off of the stone wall behind them and washing out my pics so I'll get one for you at a different time of day. :)

If you thought you couldn't grow roses, try these Double Pink Knockout Roses!

I think I'm in love!

  1. Wow! They are absolutely gorgeous. One of these times when I have another flower bed, I'm gonna get some of those! I have always been afraid of growing roses because, like you, I kill them or something attacks them. These roses are almost foolproof from what I've heard. Hey, snap it up with the photos of the foundation flower bed!! I'm beginning to think you just made that up! :)

  2. Lol, my back was sure wishing I had made it up! :) Most of the plants I put in are still pretty small and makes the bed look puny. I'm waiting until they fill out just a bit because the pics I've tried to take of the bed looks more like mud than plants, lol.

I'll let you know how these roses hold up through the summer - I'm still in my honeymoon phase with them right now. But there are more roses on those four plants than I've been able to grow in years of trying and the plants look great. And we'll have to see if they live up to their hype of blooming all summer, too. :)
