What a Relief!

I haven't done a relief carving in a bit so I started this one a couple days ago. It has a LONG way to go before it's finished but I'll post pics of it as it progresses.

I always start out shallow and then work everything deeper (probably making more work for myself, lol) - but I think it will be nice when it is done.

It will have its own carved frame and I haven't decided how I'm going to carve the frame yet.

Any thoughts?

I've tossed around a few ideas like rope or leaves but I still have plenty of time to think about it.

Suggestions are welcome. :)

Into Each Life...

Fed up with the rain? I know I sure am. I love the sunshine and this gloomy rain is not something I would have ordered up.

But the rains bring some really wonderful things to life...

Yep, it's fungus!!! :)

Who knew fungus could be beautiful????

Thanks to my friend who taught me to see rather than ignore! :)

Git Yer Goat On!

Now everyone can git their goat on! A lot of people have been trying on the goat and finding that goat's milk soap is the most awesome soap you can find!

But there are a lot of people out there who have sensitive skin that were missing out on the benefits of goat's milk soap.

Not anymore! No fragrance or color added! Just pure and simple goat goodness! :)

I love this stuff!

New Visitation Soaps!

These fun little guest soaps are just right fer yer guests or yer powder room and are a great way to try our soaps.

Each comes individually wrapped and they'll look so cute in a little basket on yer vanity.

They may even give your guests a little hint that it may be time to hit the road. Of course, you could always tell them that when the soap is gone, so are they. :)

And they will make your powder room smell divine!

So, this is what happens on rainy days around here. :)

You can find our Visitation Soaps here.

Do You See What I See???

I like to spend time hiking around the woods looking for arrowheads and interesting rocks.

This one has me stumped.

At first, I thought it was a small grinding dish but when I flipped it over it has all kinds of crazy lines and shapes.

I thought it was carved but was told by some people online that it was just a rock. The pic above and the one below were taken out in the sun.

It's not like any rock I've ever seen so I kept it. :) The two pics below were taken on my kitchen table - yep, it is really red.

Oh, and you can click on the photos to get a better look.

This is my favorite part of the stone. It looks kind of like a bird to me.

What do you see???

And be careful - if you look at it too long, you'll see all kinds of crazy things. :)

Have You Had Your Fix Today?

A good friend of mine has come up with a great idea to get even more out of her Hick's Fix!

She likes to tuck bars of our Hick's Fix soap that she hasn't used yet between her bath towels in her closet. She said then, when she buries her face in her towel to dry off, she gets another "fix"!

What an awesome idea!

And it really works! I tried it over the weekend and my towels smell like Shiny Hiney! :)

Cute and Clever Idea!

One of our customers, now a friend, shared a great idea with me today. She is using a bunch of our Soap Samplin's for something so cute and clever!

And, with her permission, I'm sharing it with you! :)

She is using them as party favors for her daughter's bridal shower and is attaching a tag to each little soap that will read:

"I hope your shower is as good as mine"

How cute and adorable is that??? I'm sure it will be a party favor that everyone will remember!

Chucky???

You never know what you'll find when you're hiking around.

Usually, you'll come across beautiful little spots that would be perfect to just sit and enjoy.

But sometimes you come across things that are just downright creepy!

Honestly, this one creeped me out!

Knockouts, indeed!

Usually, a rose bush would have a better chance of survival if you left it at the nursery, doused it with gasoline, and lit it on fire rather than letting it go home with me!

But not anymore!

I bought 4 Double Knockout Pink Roses this year to use in my foundation bed two weeks ago and they are already blooming their little heads off!

They are less than 2 feet tall, have had almost no sun for two weeks, and have been pelted with rain and hail. But these little babies are covered with buds and blooms!

I tried to get a pic of the entire plant but the sun was reflecting off of the stone wall behind them and washing out my pics so I'll get one for you at a different time of day. :)

If you thought you couldn't grow roses, try these Double Pink Knockout Roses!

I think I'm in love!
